Dr. Ankita Sabharwal

(Ophthalmologist)

Dr Ankita Sabharwal is an Australian fellowship trained ophthalmologist who is an expert in Refractive Surgery and Medical Retina.
She is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Ophthalmology Shree Jeewan Hospital and Dr Bodhraj Institute of Ophthalmology in New Delhi. These centers were established in 1920 and Dr Ankita Sabharwal is the 4th generation doctor in her family of 140 doctors.

She completed her post graduation from Mumbai and then went forward to do multiple fellowships to gain expertise in super-speciality branches of Ophthalmology. Soon after her post graduation she went to Hyderabad to do a fellowship from the famous L.V. Prasad Eye Institute which gave her the skills to do the thousands of Micro Incision PHACO Cataract Surgery that she has done till now.
Dr Ankita then progressed to work at the renowned All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and St. Stephens Hospital. Her work in AIIMS involved Retina (PASCAL LASERS, Intravitreal injections, TPA, ROP screening, etc.) and Refractive Surgery (LASIK, C3R, PK, FEMTO Laser assisted cataract surgery, etc.).
All this experience gave her the courage to secure a position at the state of the art Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia. Her Australian training took her to the next level in LASIK Surgery and LASER procedures done for diabetic retinopathy and hypertensive patients.
She then returned to New Delhi to provide the same level of quality and expertise in Eye Care.
Her achievements have been recognised by organisations like the Delhi and Indian Ophthalmology Society, Rotary Club of India and others. She has scientific papers to her credit that have been published in well known journals and has also presented her work at National & International forums.
Dr Ankita is involved in a lot of charitable work where she provides free consults and surgeries for the needy. She is associated with many renowned schools and provides eye care tips to children.
